林忆莲于1966年4月26日出生于香港，在1985年推出个人首张专辑大获成功，迅速成为香港新生代艺人中窜红最快、最受瞩目的一位。其粉红色的形象令人耳目一新，再加上创新的音乐路线，更蔚为一股“忆莲”式的风潮。为了打开知名度，林忆莲积极参加各种宣传和社会公益活动，树立良好的公众形象。林忆莲以她无懈可击的舞台形象,为都市触觉画上了一个完美的句号。1992年开始,林忆莲的歌曲由都市触觉中快、慢相结合转型为以抒情歌为主，激情而曲高人寡的演驿。现今，她的音乐走向以好听动人的旋律为主轴，感受分享性的歌词，不刻意局限曲风，不唱高调的音乐，再加上林忆莲温暖、细腻的嗓音和自然不刻意修饰的唱腔，呈现出多样、悦耳的清新姿态。
